A year or so ago I taught myself how to shoot and edit video and it’s been a pretty fun hobby. When we make the Sans Carne cooking show we use two cameras to shoot from two different angles. One camera is pointed at me talking about the meal and the other is over top, shooting the footage of me making the meal. I then have to edit these together so that the audio matches at the same time. One way to make life easier is to begin each new footage with a quiet room and then a loud noise – such as a clap. That’s where “The Clapper” comes in. Two icons of video production are the director’s or actor’s chair and the black and white clapper. I’ve got me the clapper, now I need the actor’s chair for between segments.
Thanks for the info! I was curious as to how you did your Sans Carne videos so well; now I have some insight.
